Safety Officer / EMT

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a Safety Officer to join our client in Calvert City, Kentucky.

Job Overview: (Rotating Shifts)
- First shift (night shift) 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
- Second shift (day shift) 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
- Third shift (afternoon shift) 3:00 pm - 11:00pm.
- Shift differential rates apply-plus $.55 / hr for the afternoon shift and plus $.65 / hr for the night shift.

Job Responsibilities:
- Under the general supervision of the Safety Specialist, the following duties are performed:
- Supervise and direct the Emergency Response Team during facility emergencies.
- Maintain State fire fighters certification.
- Keep up to date on the latest emergency response techniques.
- Administer first aid care / treatment for all onsite personnel.
- Assist plant nurse as needed.
- Transport (external) to local EMS support as needed.
- Maintain Emergency Medical Technician certification.
- Meet APCI training requirements.
- Maintain CPR / First Aid training for Emergency Response Team.
- Ensure employee accountability through KRONOS.
- Control and monitoring of vehicles and personnel entering and exiting the plant site.
- Conduct visitor orientations (PPE, visitors' badges, directions, and contact with areas).
- Assist in unit / area business transactions.
- Serve as plant security contact on off shift.
- Responsible for site security on / off shift.
- Monitor all plant traffic.
- Call-in maintenance / plant / contractor personnel as needed on the off-shifts.
- Insure compliance with DOT requirements for truck shipping.
- Coordinate satellite shipping facilities.
- Provide central notification and information for internal and external emergency response.
- Provide confined space rigging and rescue support.
- Provide health and safety support for all units / areas.
- Conduct safety equipment inspections (fire extinguishers, SCBAs, sprinklers, trucks, fire and emergency response equipment.
- Issue and review work permits.
- Coordinate CIMAP communication (primary), central control point, and nine other plants in complex, state and local authorities.
- Provide regional backup for Marshall County 911 outdoor warning systems.
- Coordinate and maintain facility fire protections systems.

Job Qualifications:
- Someone with a safety degree is preferred; must meet EMT and firefighter requirements.
- Two years of related work experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are required.
