Job Summary
Provision of Emergency and/or Critical Care transfers on a 24-hour basis.
Provision of emergency response to VIP patients, 24-hour basis.
Responds to Hospital housing, employees, and their dependents on a 24-hour basis.
Assist with Code Greens and code blue in the East Wing of the Hospital (i.e. Adult and pediatric cardiac arrest)
Play a major role with the hospital's disaster and decontamination response.
Provide in-services and training for EMT student and other hospital staff
The
Paramedic Department follows the American DOT standards and protocols
for operation. Paramedics work eleven 24-hour shifts in six (6) week
period.
Requirements
Completion of a MINIMUM
two (2) year accredited DEGREE or DIPLOMA paramedic training program
from a North American college, technical school, or university (NOTE:
Shorter programs are NOT accepted)
Must be able to obtain official transcript from paramedic degree/diploma program
Must be a Registered Paramedic with Advanced Cardiac life Support
(ACLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification.
Must hold a current/active Paramedic license.
Canadian Trained Paramedic: Must have a minimum of three years current
full-time experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic in Canada.
American Trained Paramedic: Must have a minimum of three years current
full-time experience working as a Nationally (NREMT/P) or State
Registered Paramedic
