Job Description

Performs responsible work in rendering emergency and non-emergency medical care and life-saving measures to critically ill or injured persons of all ages on basic and advanced life support levels. Requires successful completion of the North Carolina State Emergency Medical Services training program or an equivalent training program. Employment is contingent on passing a assessment center, physical agility test, pre-employment drug screen, skills validation program, clinical and operational clearance during the yearlong probationary period.


REQUIREMENTS:

Requires successful completion of the North Carolina State Emergency Medical Services training program or equivalent training program. North Carolina Office of Emergency medical Services Paramedic certification or and must have a valid NC driver's license with a three year acceptable driving record. Candidates without NC certification must apply for legal recognition at www.ncems.org .
Please submit copy of paramedic certification with application.

*Salary is contingent upon the employee working the required scheduled hours per pay period.
*Pay for attending mandatory continuing education events.

We are a growing agency. Our staff was 112 people in 2013; it is now 172 and is expected to top 200 in the next year. We currently operate 19 ambulances at peak hour, falling to 10 ambulances overnight. We provide medical support to a large and growing number of community and collegiate special events, with a bicycle emergency response team, a major incident support unit, and a variety of specialized response resources. Our tactical EMS unit provides support to two law enforcement special operations (tactical) teams, and several medics are members of the Biological-Chemical Emergency Response Team (B-CERT).


Salary Information

Salary: $35,418-63,767 annual
