Job Description
Arcadia Ambulance is a small BLS company in the San Ramon. We specialize in inter-facility transportation; maintaining excellent patient care and customer service. We are actively seeking an Operations Manager with management experience and a strong EMS background to be responsible for various duties. The Ops Manager will be assisted by the Supervisors and FTOs, and will distribute training and information to the field employees. The Ops Manager will have a primarily Monday through Friday schedule but should be available for special events as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Maintain all certifications relevant to clinical level
Non-Probationary employee without significant discipline in the last 6 months
Must be flexible with work schedule
Flexible hours with Monday through Friday availability. Full time position with time designated for taking shifts and calls
Evening and Night shifts as needed
Weekends and Holidays as needed
Must be competent in operating a computer and using basic applications
Operations:
Meet daily operational needs for urgent or overflow calls
Respond to incidents in the field
Document all responses and training performed in response to the incident in HR files
Identify and report all safety concerns immediately to Management, correct concerns immediately
Responsible for the day to day operations of the department including but not limited to compliance with all state and federal regulations, hospital preparedness, QI, policies and procedures, time cards, orientation, and scheduling duties.
Liaison with county EMS board and area ambulance squads.
Training:
Attend monthly meetings with the FTO’s and EMT’s
Present monthly focus and other topics at station meetings
Teach classes such as protocol updates, in-service training
Distribute information and training techniques
Hold skills sessions: EMT Skills Verification
Coordinate and teach New Hire Field Orientation classes and FTO Train-the-Trainer Classes
Evaluate FTO recommendations for Field Training
Supervision:
o Interview, train, supervise and evaluate FTO personnel
o Completion of remedial training, Implementation, monitoring and completion of RTW and PIP plans for individual employees
Curriculum:
Contribute knowledge and experience to curriculum and training materials
Complete annual review of Training Manual and Monthly Focus Calendars
Write and revise training material as necessary
Administration:
Maintain training files for all employees
Attend job fairs and recruit at local EMT classes
Assist the department with large projects
Attend County EMS meetings for annual/training updates
Maintain compliance with all local policies and protocols for training
