EMT's - Upper Kittitas County Medic One, Washington State

Admin

Employer: Upper Kittitas County Medic One / Kittitas County Hospital District #2
Location:
Closed date: 11/20/2015

Job Description

Medic One is the sole ALS provider and the primary transport agency for the northwestern part of Kittitas County, Washington, serving the communities of Snoqualmie Pass, Lake Kachess, Easton, Roslyn, Ronald, Cle Elum, and South Cle Elum, and the surrounding rural and wilderness areas, including a forty-one mile section of Interstate 90. We respond to approximately 1,200 calls per year, and operate one (1) 24 hour unit and one (1) 12 hour unit. We are in the process of evaluating the feasibility of moving the 12 hour car to 24 hours which would occur, if approved no sooner than February 2016.

Additionally, KCPHD 2 is working on a possible integration of EMS and fire based services in Upper Kittitas County. The planning efforts would secure positions for all full-time personnel and provide for an option to convert to fire fighter or stay EMS only. These efforts are preliminary and nothing is decided at this point. Because of the rural setting and extended transport times to receiving facilities, ideal candidates should be comfortable in managing patients for extended periods of time in a variety of environmental settings and/or extreme weather conditions.

All candidates must have a current Washington State certification for the position for which they are applying. Paramedics must also have current ACLS, PALS and PHTLS. Our intent is to fill an immediate need by hiring 1-2 ALS certified providers and 2-3 BLS providers to fill per diem vacancies. Full-time vacancies are generally filled from the per diem roster and we anticipate vacancies in the next six months.
