Job Description

The Clinical Coordinator will have a primary concentration on teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement of clinical processes, the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the clinical care provided by AirLink/VitaLink and the Regional Transfer Center. This position reports to the Clinical Outcomes and Compliance Manager to ensure the continuous quality improvement of the program. Ensures that standards of care and documentation are met or exceeded. Regularly performs duties of active transport staff member as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for clinical employee recruiting, resume review, initial phone interviews, coordination of in-person interviews and pre-employment physicals with HR Recruiter, BBI Panel and pre-employment clinical evaluation
Ensure staff compliance with annual and bi-annual physical health screenings and fit for duty evaluations
Responsible for daily oversight of and response and loop closure of Special Reports in accordance with the Total Quality Management system
Leads and facilitates effective clinical changes for improvement in quality and/or efficiency. Develops and revises medical standards in collaboration with Medical Director and is actively involved in administrative decisions effecting patient care
Responsible for required POC equipment logs (i.e. EPOC, glucometers, etc.) and CAP/CLIA compliance and provides appropriate response, action and loop closure documentation as necessary
Responsible for medication supply, currency and replacement
Contributes input to clinical compliance components of Staff Performance Evaluations in cooperation with Operations Supervisors

Qualifications:
Successful completion of a recognized EMT-Paramedic training program OR graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. Preferred: bachelors college degree in quality improvement or health-related field
Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of North Carolina OR NC Paramedic Certification. BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification (instructor level preferred). Advanced trauma certification and NRP required within 6 months of hire (instructor level preferred)
Current and valid North Carolina Class C operator’s license. Must meet general hospital driving requirements. EVO is required to drive during emergency situations
Specialty certification preferred or obtained within 24 months of hire: CFRN, CEN, CCRN, CCEMPT-P, or FP-C. NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 600
Minimum 5 years experience in emergency services or critical care, including at least 1 year in transport environment. Previous management or compliance experience preferred
