Job Summary
The Medic is responsible for providing OCONUS based operational health care services support for assigned program.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a Physician’s Assistant, Physician, or Nurse Practitioner.
Examines patients, performs physical exams, and compiles medical data, including health history.
Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, management of infection, EKG’s, etc.
Renders direct patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment of health problems, health promotion, and preventative care.
Applies scientific knowledge to human treatment responses to actual or potential health problems.
Documents and maintains patient records of services.
Coordinates treatment plan with other caregivers such as, regional medical personnel, Medical Director, physical therapists or other medical assets.
Participates in employee training and orientation programs.
Plans and prepares for aero medical evacuation missions.
Coordinates with operational mission planners for the safe evacuation of the patients from the originating mission to the destination facility.
Provides medical attendance if required.
Manages, controls, and executes activities associated with the development of health and safety standards under
Implements policies, practices and revisions to existing policies and practices as required to meet company health and safety requirements.
Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Advanced knowledge of first aid and emergency care.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with staff, government officials, and DynCorp senior management.
Knowledge of and ability to manage medical records and medical equipment.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer programs, especially word processing, “PowerPoint” and other presentation programs, as well as “Excel” or other basic spreadsheets.
Ability to pass the Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) clearance.
Experience & Education
Current state registered/licensed paramedic or advanced military medical qualified to US SF 18D equivalent.
FN: ACLS or internationally recognized equivalent required.
Certifications may vary by program assignment and will be listed separately.
Certification must be current with all applicable education/recertification requirements completed.
5-7 years’ experience in the medical field as a medic/paramedic or equivalent.
Experience in deployed contingency operations or similar medical experience preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Ability to pass the pre-employment screening, medical, psychological, physical fitness.
Demonstrated ability to work in difficult and possibly dangerous environments, preferably in a Middle-Eastern locale
