JOB SUMMARY:
To function as a member of an interdisciplinary team including
organizing and providing quality patient care services and to
proactively support the efforts that ensures delivery of safe patient
care and services and to promote a safe environment at Yale-New Haven
Children's Hospital. For Paramedics working inside and outside the
hospital, care is delivered under the supervision of a licensed
professional.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Connecticut required, National Registry preferred. Must be in compliance with State Continuing Education requirements as outlined by Connecticut code and DHR regulations for Paramedics.
- A minimum of two year's experience with patient care required, pediatric experience preferred.
- Competencies, as defined by the department, must be completed within six months of hire.
- BLS required within 30 days of hire. ACLS certification is required; PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of date of hire.
Transport paramedics:
1. NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
2. Adheres to physical fitness requirements for rotor wing or fixed wing providers if participating in air transport. A minimum of two year's experience with patient care required, pediatric experience preferred.
