EMT-B Ambulance Driver/Attendant
Non-emergency medical transport specialist/driver

Medex American Lifestar Ambulance is a family owned and operated company that has been providing Non-Emergency EMT Transportation and Gurney/Wheel Chair Transportation since 2003. We are a rapidly growing company in need of certified ambulance personnel to start-up our new BLS Ambulance Division.

We're always looking for dedicated individuals who want to be part of our patient-care focused team for clients requiring BLS ambulance and other non-emergent specialized transport services. We need friendly, caring, skilled professionals who can make sound clinical judgments and will pay attention to the special needs of our patients and satisfaction of our clients.

We are seeking certified Emergency Medical Technicians AND Non-Emergency Transport Specialist. We offer a variety of full-time, part-time and per-Diemshift schedules for days, nights and weekends.

Job Responsibilities Includes But Not Limited To
EMT maintains and drives the Ambulance and assists with patient care within the EMT-B scope of practice.
EMT is responsible for the transport and care of medically ill and provides basic life support services in non-emergency situations.
EMT-B is responsible for following the standards of practice for the EMT-Ambulance/Basic as published in the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Standard Training Curricula with American Heart Association guidelines superseding.
EMT-B is also expected to function competently as a driver. When business dictates, the EMT's will also transport either wheelchair bound or ambulatory clients as well.

EMT And Driver
Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider)
Valid California Driver's license Ambulance Driver's license.
Three year DMV printout showing clean driving record
Certificate to include the Medical Exam Certificate DL-51 DMV Report

Emt
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and will have completed an Emergency Medical Technician course. Current Certification for EMT-B recognized by a Registered California State EMS CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) Authority.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis.
Must be able to work effectively with peers, other departments, first responders and the public using good interpersonal skills, discretion and diplomacy.
Must be able to communicate using 2-way radios and/or cell phones.
Must be at least 23 years of age or older due to Insurance reasons..
Must be able to keep up with a fast-paced atmosphere and work under pressure.
Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations and carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form in a professional manner.
Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
Must be able to communicate in English. Bilingual Preferred
Must be in good physical condition to perform job duties, and required to talk, listen, stand and walk 100% of the job time.
Required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move over 100 lbs.
Required to make repetitive movements with right and left hands, such as grasping, and pushing and pulling.
Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employment contingent upon drug test and background check within acceptable parameters.
All shifts available. Full and part time assistance needed.
