• Graduation from an accredited Paramedic Course
Experience:
• Prefer a minimum of one (1) year experience
Licenses/Certifications:
• Certified by The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
Job Summary:
A Paramedic is responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning implementation and evaluation. Under the supervision of the Physician or by approved protocol(s), directs and guides patient teaching and activities commensurate with her/his education and demonstrated competencies
Essential Functions
• Under the supervision of the Medical Director, makes observations of the physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients in Intake. Reports findings to the provider accordingly
• Implements individualized treatment programs as directed by the health care practitioner
• Assists the Health Care practitioner in medical or minor surgical procedures as necessary and /or requested to meet individual needs of patients
• Implements clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols and provider orders.
• Intervenes with proper technique, procedures and safety precautions using aseptic technique and Standard Precautions
• Communicates information to other nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel and other staff, to include classification, as needed or required
• Respond to a code or health emergency within standard guidelines.
