The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is currently recruiting for the position of EMS Specialist. This is a journey level EMS position with the District and an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic professional to become a valued member of an innovative, progressive, internationally accredited fire

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is an independent Special District in Contra Costa County responsible for providing a high level of emergency and non-emergency services to the communities it serves. The District’s service area encompasses approximately 155 square miles, serving the communities of Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, San Ramon, the southern boundary of Morgan Territory, and the Tassajara Valley. The communities are primarily residential, commercial, office park, and controlled manufacturing protected by 10 stations and 175 employees.
The EMS Specialist is responsible for the development and delivery of the District’s EMS educational programs and activities. This position will assess, develop, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate EMS educational programs in conjunction with the EMS Coordinator/QI. This position will also provide assistance with EMS quality assurance and overall EMS operational initiative/duties.
The position requires:
Three (3) years experience EMT-P or a Registered Nurse with pre-hospital experience.
Management of EMS educational programs as well as EMS operational management experience highly desirable.
Must possess a valid State of California Paramedic license with ACLS certification. ACLS certification must be equivalent to AHA ACLS standards and include hands-on skills demonstration sign off Or Must possess Registered Nurse License.
BLS for Health Care Provider CPR certification/card consistent with AHA CPR standards including a skills component is also required. PHTLS/ITLS/ATT, PEPP/PALS are recommended.
Must not be a current participant in a government retirement system and must not be eligible for reciprocity with CCCERA.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. College degree preferred.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
