Purpose Of The Job:
The Flight Paramedic (LifeFlight) position acts as a certified paramedic who functions in the field and on inter-facility transports in conjunction with a Flight Nurse to provide patient care using assessment skills and written protocols.
Responsible for responding to requests for critical care transport according to LifeFlight policies and protocols. May assist in the hospital when requested by the nursing and physician staff with ALS interventions and with emergency care within the hospital according to protocols and polices approved by the hospital and LifeFlight medical director, and hospital policy. Performs other duties related to the provision of care as assigned after appropriate training.

The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Paramedic course
Three (3) years of Paramedic experience with a documented high call volume
Current Paramedic Certification and/or Licenses in the states in which they will work required
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
ITLS or TNCC required
NRP preferred
Ability to carry 100lbs over multiple types of terrain Ability to adapt to various climate extremes and weather conditions
Ability to assist with extrication according to current training level
Must have no physical limitations that would restrict ability to work safely in the helicopter or restrict patient care
