Good Shepherd Medical Center is a Level II Trauma Center. The Emergency Department provides an in-house surgical team comprised of anesthesia, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, general surgery and oral surgery 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Emergency department is staffed by only board certified Emergency physicians and cares for around 88,000 patients per year, making it the busiest ER in the region and one of the busiest in the state.
POSITION PURPOSE:
To assist the physician and nursing staff in providing care for the patients in the Emergency Department of Good Shepherd Medical Center. The technician will be incorporated into the department serving as a nurse extender, allowing the multidiscipline team of emergency care providers to more efficiently utilize the human resources available to provide quality patient care.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience as an EMT-I or EMT-P
CERTIFICATION:
EMT- Intermediate or Paramedic. Current BLS health provider training required
PRN Varies High School/GED
