Emergency Medical Technician
Ambulance Services
Full-time- 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 P.M.
Job Functions: (But not limited to):
· Must be able to lift and carry a patient and stretcher up and down several flights of stairs with equipment and patients aboard into the ambulance using proper techniques.
· Must be able to carry equipment and travel on foot for several hundred yards.
· Able to do situational assessment management
· Ability to supervise others during crisis BCLS
· Perform vehicle rescue and extrication techniques
· Interact professionally with police, fire and other agency
Education Requirements:
Four-year high school diploma or equivalent required
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Successful completion of training program and Emergency Medical Technician, and other protocol update programs as currently required.
Certification as a NYS EMT 1+ years experience preferred. NYS DMV Class 4 chauffeurs license.
Work Experience
1+year NYC Ambulance operations experience preferred. Emergency Vehicle Operator’s Course completion desirable.
