Basic Job Function
Provides emergency medical care to team members and guests, teaches safety and prevention, and provides care for workers compensation cases.
Enthusiastically represents SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job.
Principle Duties
Responds to medical emergencies throughout the park.
Assesses injuries or illness, administers appropriate treatment and completes paperwork for team members and guests.
Administers ongoing care to team members with workers compensation injuries.
Consults with physicians to make appointments and arrange care for team members.
Performs daily checks on safety and rescue equipment.
Reports safety hazards in the park to necessary personnel.
Participates in department training and drills.
Teaches CPR classes (if certified).
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Education, And Training
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a current American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR health care provider card (HCP).
Must have a San Diego County EMT or Paramedic Certification.
Must have two years of related experience not including volunteer work.
Must submit to an annual respiratory physical.
Must be able to respond to patient needs and make sound decisions.
Must be able to represent the company and communicate to doctors and insurance representatives.
Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as medical doses and shots, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work weekends, 3rd shift and holidays shifts.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with or without accommodation.
Must be able to work indoors and in outside weather conditions (i.e. sunny, wet, and/or humid conditions).
Must be able to positively interact with park guests and co-workers of all ages different ethnic/cultural background and/or languages and individuals with special needs.

Availability
Must be able to work two days a week to include weekends and holidays from 9:00am to 7:30pm. Shifts are typically 8-10 hours.
Hours
External Applicants: Seasonal: 0 to 40 hours per week.
Current Team Members (Internal Applicants): Dependent upon incumbent's current status (i.e. Seasonal 0 to 40 hours per week, Part-Time 0 to 28 hours per week, Full-Time - 40 hours per week).
