Definition
Incumbent will perform a full-time/salaried position in management, providing pre-hospital emergency medicine instruction and other related education to students in first responder, law enforcement, fire service and specialized military fields. Duties revolve around in-house education, online programs and mobile training throughout the United States. Training programs include National Registry of EMT’s, American Heart Association, National Association of EMT’s, tactical medicine and custom medical training and support, as dictated by the client.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is a management level position in Training and Education. As a manager, the incumbent will primarily evaluate needs of the company and plan entire training programs accordingly.

Supervision Received and Exercised
Receives direct supervision from the General Manager. As the EMS Training Programs Manager, will receive educational guidance from the Medical Director.

Minimum Qualifications/Position-Specific Conditions:
Training/Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in business management preferred
• Ten (10) years experience delivering pre-hospital or emergency care in a field setting
• Five (5) years experience teaching courses, seminars, or workshops in adult education related to the pre-hospital medical field

Best Candidates Will Have
• Working knowledge in the use of Windows-based computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), and Mac IOS
• Understanding of budgeting principles related to program management
• Program-manager level knowledge and abilities in the following EMS-related education programs:
o National Registry of EMT’s (NREMT)
o National Association of EMT’s (NAEMT)
o American Heart Association (AHA)
o Online EMS education
o National, state and local medical control & protocols
o EMS field training requirements
o State-level Post-Secondary Education programs
o Continuing Education Coordinating Board for EMS (CECBEMS)

• Experience in the selection, training, scheduling and oversight of a team of EMS educators
• The ability to provide a high-level of technical EMS training and course implementation to students with varying backgrounds and levels of experience
• The ability to create lessons plans, integrate subordinate field graders, role players during multi-faceted and complex training programs
• A proven track-record of forecasting, developing, managing, and coordinating training plans, training locations, and logistical requirements for successful training program implementation
• Military special operations background

Licenses or Certifications
• Current national registry paramedic, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant or physician license in the United States
• Instructor-level certifications and primary instructor experience in the following disciplines:
o American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support/CPR
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support
o National Association of EMT’s
• Prehospital Trauma Life Support
• Tactical Combat Casualty Care
• Tactical Emergency Casualty Care
o Primary Instructor for Advanced EMS-level education
o Primary Instructor for Tactical Medical operations
• Valid Nevada State Driver’s License

Conditions of Employment
• Will be subjected to drug testing and background check
• Are required to maintain a Nevada driver’s license for commuting between the regular workplace and offsite work locations
• Will be required to be on call and perform job duties, as required
Environmental Conditions
• Training room and office environment; use of latex gloves, and medical equipment testing
• Outside field training environment, implemented into tactical training environments in potentially dark, wet, confined, loud and dirty locations
• Exposure to potentially hazardous medical chemicals
• Exposure to computer screens
• Road and traffic conditions while driving a vehicle when conducting custom training

Physical Conditions
• Vision sufficient to read fine print on computers, distinguish fine details when looking at manuals, as well as distinguish color, contrast, and patterns
• Speech sufficient to exert classroom instruction
• Hearing sufficient to comprehend instructions, training content, and conversations
• Agility and mobility to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, rotate and extend neck, and balance self while training and/or standard office equipment
• Dexterity sufficient to manipulate instruments and small items accurately over and extended period of time
• Strength and mobility to lift items up to 40 lbs with or without aid of equipment
• Endurance sufficient to sit or stand for long periods of time, as necessary
