Job Summary
Provides medical assessments, treatments and transportation to all age groups, in and out
of hospital settings, through approved protocols or under the direction and/or supervision of physicians or registered nurses in support of the nursing vision.
Essential Duties
- Graduate of a Nebraska approved EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I or EMT-P training program.
- Completion
of Good Samaritan Hospital Medication Aide training for oxygen usage
for EMT-A's thru EMT-I's. (Paramedics excluded.) within 3 months of
employment.
- One year of experience as an EMS provider on a licensed ambulance service
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Nebraska Certificate of Competency to act as an ambulance attendant and have a current BLS card.
- AHA, ACLS and PALS completion is encouraged for EMT-I and required for EMT-P within 6 months of employment.
- Must have a current drivers license with an excellent driving history and be able to operate an ambulance in emergency situations.
- CPR certification within 3 months of employment.
- State of Nebraska Medication Aide certification.
