Your daily responsibilities include:
Comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the Ohio State Racing Commission
Comply with all rules and regulations of the Ohio Department of Health and Human resources, office of EMS
Comply with the Exposure Control Policies for Blood-borne and Air-borne pathogens
Attend all mandatory meetings and training classes
Conduct patient care equipment inspections and ensure proper stocking at beginning of each shift
Clean and or decontaminate durable patient care equipment
Clean and or decontaminate the ambulances as needed
Restock expendable supplies and disposable equipment utilized for patient care immediately after the incident
Perform assessments and treatment of trauma and medical patients in accordance with the current Ohio BLS protocols
Perform appropriate basic interventions for trauma and medical patients in accordance with the current Ohio BLS protocols
Operate telephone and radio communications equipment effectively to transmit patient information to the appropriate care facility
Provide Verbal reports of patient interactions and conditions to incoming EMS units, receiving facilities, doctors and nurses involved with the patients care
Maintain patient confidentiality
Provide written documentation of patient care assessments, conditions, interventions and outcome
Provide written documentation of exposures to blood or bodily fluids immediately as per Beulah Parks exposure control policy
Assists EMS department staff when requested
Work with other licensed EMS agencies as needed for our operation
All other duties as assigned

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set:
Must be 18 years of age and 1 year released independent practice on your own
Possess and maintain current certification by the Ohio department of Health , Office of EMS as an Emergency medical technician- basic (EMT-B)
Possess and maintain current certification in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) at the health care provider level
Possess and maintain current certification in Pediatric education for pre hospital professionals (PEPP) at the basic provider level
Possess and maintain current certification in Basic Trauma life support (BTLS) at the basic provider level
Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operators license
Possess and maintain Ohio certification in Emergency Vehicle Operators Course(EVOC)
Possess and maintain OH MCl l & ll
Have good working knowledge of the incident command System
On a regular basis have 20/20 vision or corrected to 20/20
See standard visual warning signals, be able to distinguish fine print such as labels, observe the signs of open or closed wounds, see EKG tracings on heart monitor and paper strip recording
Distinguish between colors including shades of blue, red, yellow and green
Hear, including vocalized medical history by patients, standard audible warning signals, radio and telephone communications, stethoscope auscultation of blood pressures and breath sounds
Speaks, reads and writes the English language to communicate with patients, fellow EMT’s and medical staff
Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs alone (150 lbs or heavier with one partner equal size and strength), and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
May be exposed to inclement weather
May be exposed to controlled, loose, injured or panicked thoroughbred horses
Must be licensed with Ohio Racing Commission
Excellent customer service/communication skills
Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment.
